Alina Bălan

Your Guide to Better Collaboration

  • After spending over 15 years in communications, PR, advertising, and branding—navigating diverse industries, management styles, and high-stakes challenges—Alina learned how to read people, understand team dynamics, and design strategies that truly work. Her EMBA from Maastricht School of Management added a strong business perspective, helping her bridge human-centered approaches with real-world organizational impact.

  • Eight years ago, facilitation came naturally to her. It brought together everything she had learned and aligned perfectly with her personality—empathetic, curious, playful, energetic, and deeply results-oriented.

    During 5 years, as a partner at Design Thinking Society, Alina has led co-creation projects and trainings for leading organizations including Antibiotice SA, BCR, Bearing Point, Carrefour, Deloitte, EY, Google, HP, ING, Leroy Merlin, Lidl, OTP, Pall-Ex, and Raiffeisen Bank.

    What truly fuels Alina is seeing teams move from uncertainty to clarity, achieve alignment, and feel energized while doing it. Helping people "see the light" on their challenges and co-create solutions is what makes her work meaningful.

  • Alina taught Design Thinking, Service Design, and Innovation at the Entrepreneurship Academy for six years. During this time, she also collaborated with FABIZ, actively contributing to the development of the next generation of entrepreneurs.

     

    Today, she serves on the board of the International Association of Facilitators Romania (IAF) as VP of Partnerships, and as an Academic Board Expert at the European Institute for Sustainability, where she teaches "Designing for Sustainability." She also mentors founders at Founder Institute, the world's largest pre-seed startup accelerator.

She works with a structured, future-oriented approach, grounded in continuous learning.

    Facilitator of High-stakes Projects

    Works at the intersection of business, technology and organization, helping people and companies stay relevant for the next 10+ years. With 100+ strategic initiatives in 15+ years, he addresses critical challenges: anticipating disruptions, allocating resources for growth, evolving business and operating models, and leading complex transformations.     Facilitator, Founder and Chair Lead of IAF Romania (local chapter of the International Association of Facilitators), known for his "playful" style blending group methodologies with applied improvisation in business. With 20+ years in L&D, he has worked with teams from global companies like Apple, Samsung and Coca-Cola, helping managers use facilitation for concrete results. Internationally certified in ToP, Emotional Culture, NLP, Card Facilitation and Human Synergistics.

    Graphic Facilitators

    Paul and Renata, from Picturise, help teams understand, remember, and communicate better by turning concepts, ideas, and information into meaningful visual products. They create hand-drawn visuals in real time that summarize live conversations or presentations, keeping people engaged, sparking reflection and dialogue, improving understanding, and helping audiences remember the content afterward. By graphically mapping conversations, they give ideas a visual shape and convey stories that help people connect the dots.

    Foresight Strategist & Founder Future Station

    Diana Stafie is a Strategic Foresight consultant and founder of Future Station, a boutique consultancy helping organizations anticipate change and build resilient strategies. She works with executives and institutions across Europe, leading trend research, innovation workshops, and strategic planning. Trained at the University of Houston, Institute for the Future, Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, and the European Certified Future Strategist program, she previously worked in finance in Big4 and a Dutch corporation. She also teaches foresight at business schools and serves on boards focused on digital transformation and education.
